Five Ten PrimeBlue

As mountain bikers we live and breathe the outdoors, so we have to protect it to be able to get out and ride our bikes! Watching the brands that we stock create innovative solutions to less plastic waste is something worth shouting about.

Five Ten have launched their new Freerider and Freerider Pro. Both made with high performance recycled ocean waste. The plastics are collected from shore lines and then shredded and melted down to create yarns that Adidas are calling PrimeBlue.

Working with Parley Ocean Plastic, Adidas and Five Ten have made one of their best selling shoes with a mix of PrimeBlue, recycled polyester and sustainably sourced cotton. By 2024 Adidas hopes to phase out all virgin polyesters and make all shoes and apparel with 100% recycled materials.

The popular flat pedal shoes have kept the classic look on the Freerider and Freerider Pro but have updated the material to the sustainable Prime Blue option. The super sticky Stealth S1 Dotty tread gives that great level of grip we’ve come to expect from a set of Five Tens. The Pro’s feature an Ortholite sockliner, impact resistant toe box and a reinforced shank to help with power transfer on the climbs and better support on the descents.
