Deep Loam - The GT La Bomba Pro

Here at Stif, we are huge fans of a dirt jump bike. If you're a mountain biker looking to up your game on the trails, nothing gives higher returns on your investment than a dirt jumper. Own the rollers and turns of your local pump track and the skills mastered translate directly into more speed and more fun on the trail! GT was born as a BMX Brand in 1972, so with 50 years of experience in 'little wheels' it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that their 26" jump bike offering is the epitome of 'good times'! The GT La Bomba Pro is the top end jump bike offering from GT, and is set up ready to rip straight out of the box.

The GT La Bomba's BMX roots are immediately obvious - made from 6061 aluminium, the contest proven frame comes with all the standards you should be looking for in a dirt jumper with a Euro BB, rear disc brake mount and horizontal dropouts with integrated chain tensioners. The geometry of the frame is set up for maximum agility out on the trails or skateparks with a head tube angle of 68.5°, short 376 mm chainstays and a wheelbase of 1049 mm. Fancy yourself as the next Emil Johannson? There are holes pre drilled for a gyro and you can route the front brake hose through the top cap, meaning you can barspin and tailwhip to your heart's content.

The Gt La Bomba Pro comes in two sizes, medium and large. The medium is perfect for street/skatepark riding, with the smaller frame being easy to throw around berms and jumps. The large is great if you are new to dirt jumpers and looking for something a bit closer in size to your trail bike for a bit of added stability. One of the big benefits of a jump bike is the simplicity, and the La Bomba is no exception. No fancy linkages, bearings or rear shocks to service means the bike is very low maintenance and will keep working day in day out for years to come. The La Bomba comes in two colours - a stealthy gloss purple and matte black fade, plus a gloss team blue and black with iconic yellow graphics!

The Manitou Circus Expert fork is a staple in the Dirt Jump scene, with 100mm of travel to take the sting out of any misjudged landings. The fork features rebound and compression damping, providing enough adjustment without being overly complicated - a dirt jump fork is very much fit and forget! In the cockpit you will find a 30mm rise GT alloy riser bar which comes stock at 780mm wide, meaning if you are switching between your trail bike and this you will feel right at home right away. The stem is a solid GT 3D Forged Alloy Stem at 35mm, with a 31.8mm clamp. Braking is taken care of by Promax Hydro Disc brakes with 160 rotors front and rear - all the stopping power you could need on a dirt jumper.

The La Bomba comes specced with solid 32h alloy double wall rims, wrapped in Kenda 3-Sixty tyres. Another dirt Jump staple - they are super fast rolling tyre perfect for dusty trails, wooden skateparks and everything in between. Rounding out the build is a set of super strong chromoly three piece bmx cranks that that are built to last a lifetime of abuse. We think the La Bomba Pro is one of the best performing and best value dirt jump bikes on the market, straight out of the box it is an incredible build and has been proven on the worlds largest slopestyle courses. Whether you are a seasoned trail boss or just looking for a fun bike to play around on the pump track on a weekend, you won’t go far wrong with the La Bomba Pro!
