Deep Loam Series: Reserve Wheels - Road Range

‘The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts’… an expression originally attributed to the philosopher Aristotle, but sums up the ethos of Reserve. They focus on creating the perfect and most optimum wheel solution for it’s intended purpose, not just a rim.

The Reserve Road Range

Building upon their years of expertise in designing the best composite rims and constructing the most optimum wheelsets for off road riding they collaborated with Cervélo to build upon their own knowledge of manufacturing a superbly compliant and durable wheel but this time giving it an aerodynamic advantage. This saw the introduction of ‘Turbulent Aero Technology’. What’s turbulent aero technology? It’s Reserve’s technology that accurately replicates the kind of wind conditions you experience day in and day out on your local routes in a wind tunnel. For two years, the Reserve engineers travelled the US, mapping different types of wind conditions, and using the data to replicate real world conditions from shifting winds, changes in wind direction to alternating velocities to develop the fastest and most stable road wheelset.

Perhaps the biggest step in the development of Reserve Road wheels has been as a result of their partnership with undoubtedly the best race team in the Pro Tour peloton. With athlete such as Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert providing essential developmental feedback on Turbulent Aero Technology at the highest levels of competition, allowing the engineers to fine tune carbon construction and rim profiles for the perfect balance of comfort, efficiency and aerodynamics.

Reserve 34|37 Wheelset

The Reserve 34/37 is the wheelset for everything you ride on your road bike, designed to find that perfect balance between weight, stability and aerodynamics. It benefits from a wider, shallower front mixed with a narrower, taller rear wheel. Developed in the wind tunnel and then proven on the tarmac with professional race teams, the 34|37 provides quick acceleration and predictable handling. The 34|37 is designed to be your no fuss climbing wheelset. There are no weight limits, no tire limitations, and can be set up tubeless or with tubes. The mixed profile front and rear setup of the 34|37 provides for maximum stability, lowest weight and optimized aerodynamics.

Reserve 40|44 Wheelset

The Reserve 40|44 provides all-day capability with aerodynamic prowess. The 40|44 features a wider, shallower front mixed with a narrower, taller rear wheel, which has proven on the tarmac and in the wind tunnel to deliver speed with the benefit of stability. It’s also designed to provide a comfortable, compliant ride all day long. The 40|44 delivers just the right level of forgiveness when you need it, to let you keep racking up the miles when others are already legs up on the sofa.

The Reserve 52|63 Wheelset

Winner of a 2023 Design and Innovation Award, the Reserve 52|63 was designed to be the ultimate wheelset for sprint stages, triathlons, and anywhere with a straight long enough to make a break for it. The 52mm deep front slices through the air while still guaranteeing predictable handling in crosswinds, and the deep, 63mm rear helps you bank watts for those crucial final kilometers. It's the ultimate go fast wheelset, designed with Turbulent Aero technology. The 52|63 marks a milestone in the evolution of road wheel aerodynamics, where real world data and Turbulent Aero technology is used to design the fastest, most stable wheelset for real riders in real world conditions.

Reserve won a Design and Innovation Award in 2023 with the new 52|63 road wheelset. Used exclusively on the Cervelo S5, the 52|63 marks a milestone in the evolution of road wheel aerodynamics. “With the 52|63, Reserve have developed a set of aero wheels that usher in a new era of aerodynamic design and development.” - Design and Innovation Award Jury.

The Reserve 77|88 Wheelset

Whether you are planning to leave it all out there on Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway or just strutting your stuff at a local time trial, the Reserve 77|88 not only looks the part but delivers the speed. Developed using Turbulent Aero technology, the mixed profile front and rear setup of the 77|88 provides maximum stability, the lowest weight and optimized aerodynamics.

The mixed profile front and rear setup of the 77|88 provides for maximum stability, lowest weight and optimized aerodynamics. The rear wheel is asymmetrical, which creates a stronger, stiffer and more durable wheel.

Reserve E 77|Disc

Things went next-level in 2022, when the Jumbo Visma World Tour Team kicked off Stage 1 of the Tour de France racing the Reserve 77|Infinity Disc wheelset. The highlight though was the Stage 20 individual TT, where Green Jersey holder Wout Van Aert and Yellow Jersey holder Jonas Vingegaard went 1st and 2nd, beating all the other pre-race favorites. Now that wheelset is available to you. A deep section 77mm front with a full disc rear, combining the best in aerodynamics, stiffness and flat-out speed! The Infinity Disc rear wheel is disc-brake only, with a bonded-in rear hub, that is available for either SRAM XDR or Shimano HG drivers. Both front and rear are 22mm inner width, designed for use with tires up to 28c.
